one single impression: this week’s haiku poetry prompt: windows
photo: Morning light, lee adcock, flickr
blocked by light’s burden
the curtain closed the daylight
shutting the eye’s view
sleepy passions slept
in the stillness of daybreak
surrounded by soft
staying the moment they met
again longing for more shine
I was thinking ‘morning’ when I read your haiku so I was ready all the way for the tanka. That second is very senuous for me, I almost shiver/quiver. It surely does remind me …
Thanks,
..
BTW, I think I will remove the bottom picture. I do have one someplace I took from the outside with bars on the window. I might could find it but instead I will pull it for a bit.
Thank you,
..
Wonderful poem and image.
You’ve captured the birth of a new day perfectly.
The beauty of quiet passion is here. Lovely.
This is beautiful…your photo captures the meaning of your poem to perfection.
Great poem, Piece of Pie. You’ve captured the essence of daylight well. Have a nice day.
those lingering moments, silky and muted. you have rendered this transition so tenderly.
so moving….
So beautiful, reminds me of sleepy mornings where you lay in bed just enjoying the moments, the sounds, before having to get up and get with the program.
Peaceful and lovely…nice work!
wonderful image. loved the silhouette here.
the last line is absolutely true
always a pleasure in reading your work, something wonderfully subtle in the beauty of your chosen words, here I find it to be a peaceful dream-like moment in time untouched by daylight, very dreamy
So tender and delicate these! Very lovely.
Thanks for a bird`s eye view of such an enjoyable read of your window
love the idea of ‘light’s burden’ …
