closed eyes swaying
a hum of happiness soars
then was when my eyes opened to
a wash of waves coming ashore
a thousand yellow suns
broadcasting light and warmth
saturated sunday afternoon swim
closed eyes swaying
the heat was building, sweat and
circumstance soon tore open the sky
billowing buds of bejeweled blue benevolence
a hum of happiness soars
contemplating clouds of clarity
fussy feathers fidgeting for freedom
swept away wings sprouted wide
then was when my eyes opened to
a modest and soothing splash
the tingling touch of cool waters
hinting at a home encompassing wrap
a wash of waves coming ashore
pop,
This is absolutely gorgeous!
I love the imagery in this piece.

A lovely and smooth cascade of shorebound wash…soothing and energetic at the same time.
I liked your write very much. Thanks for your comment, yes, it was a film on PBS, I loved it, and wanted it to go on for ever. I wanted to run away to the circus!
Wow, a beautiful cascade of alliteration.

“billowing buds of bejewelled blue benevolence.” It was worth the sojourn over simply to read this lovely line Ms. Pie and hear it tripping off my tongue. What a diamond of a poem you have created here! “Sweat and circumstance soon tore open the sky.” I am simply overwhelmed by that image. Thank you for this beautiful image and post.
