one deep breath this week’s prompt: treasure
photo: schreibmeister7 photobucket
reaching the shoreline
brought instant relief
from the static of life
salty air inspires
the lofty breeze
releases the soul
from the misfortune
of obscure burdens
with a single drop
the vessel shifts
overflows and releases
shedding familar frailty
afloat in the open seas
breathing once again
content with the
subtle power
of constant movement
You’ve captured perfectly how I feel the moment I get out on the water.
Oh, yes! Nothing better than ‘subtle power/of constant movement’. Can feel every word here.
The open seas, what a treasure you have found!
You’ve captured that feeling perfectly. A lovely post even if I do feel a little sea sick.
The movement is expressed beautifully in the poem. I particularly liked the idea that the ‘lofty breeze’ could be ‘inspired by the salty air’, releasing ‘the soul/from obscure burdens’.
I love the ocean–to look at. My husband loves to go boating on it and this poem describes him perfectly! Love your wording!
The sea is surely a treasure! I loved the photo you included, too.
I love the bit about releasing the soul from obscure burdens. A beautiful poem, I can almost smell the sea breeze.
