resisting the warmth of the glowing campfire the willowy walker began his chant imparted from the verbal echoes of the elder voices. uncorking the soft remote, his closed eyes searched the roomy skies pulling hard on the lever of long distance. happiness slowly smiled intrados as his body responded to the rural rug beneath lifting upward acknowledging the familiar strum of his beating heart. detecting the ubiquitous utterances of the sacred tome the talons of time embraced his breath leaving him instantly limp. crossing the invisible the flap of resistance released bringing back his body. awakening to a bitter taste of buried burning bones he knew he was near his resting place. in the clearing of creation he could see the fiery torch of purple and gold leading him heavenward. with a startle of remembrance he began to massage the bruise of last week’s circle dance as the beating drums swam along the stars. hidden in the folds of his memory shuffling his feet along side her who sighs to the wailing white moon he who is soon to be a starry host, polaris.

gallop gone

three word wednesday: pulse, shard, weary
photo: DennisKirk , flickr

weary awakening not much sleep
a particular star in last night’s sky
comet comes calling cerebral glide
riding saddle summons
possibility  persist stirruped feet engaged

light recognition dawn’s racing hoofbeats
gravity’s pulse and pull homeward descent
earthbound tied a dreamer’s plunge
water splash array no need for air

slipping soothe surround soft bed
shards of cosmos between my toes
morning confessions yoke disclose
trying to catch the 6am train

saturday scribes: the air we breathe; 3 words, overcome, chimera, canopy
read write poem: day 12, napowrimo; photo: bird sellerdolce babanne, flickr

the cognizant invisibility
of my digital clock
red light’s silent
thunderous ticking

it’s always this way
overcome with restless-ness
suspended sleep
even here with peace
lying beside me
in gentle waves of water

all wet
a quiet noise comes
the sandman
his twinkling  toes
and pink gold floating dust

cannot help but to
take flight the
midnight cool air
a singsong bird’s call
chimera dripping rainbow

we soon soar
peeling past the
canopy effervescent stars

subtlety steady
straight ahead
there’s nothing so like this
not even hot butttered
blueberry pancakes

fire and smoke

monday a message waiting..come close while the white full moon caresses the clear midnight. shackled to unwritten history i hear the chanting music of his beads and feathers quietly observe the ticking of uncertainty where he has no place to print his soft moccasin feet. floating along the cool quiet river, our heads bent in one breath we divulge a delicate language filled with intimate familiarity. with simple dexterity he navigates the watered tales of ancient days when we rode together on a spotted horse racing across open windows. caught by lightning’s whim, i can do nothing but stay until we cross again in a thunderous storm.
