sunset.listening

open wound specter
waiting for life’s return
taking a tour to tomorrow

a seasonal whim
when the sun returns
wrapped in secrets

creating a calm
that wound it’s way
around a cloud

kept behind a hill
until a rainy day
when the rainbow arrives

dVerse Quadrille Monday What’s in a word, wound

28.bridgework

before there was you
sitting alone appeared perfect
the space of quiet
awakened before daybreak
stranded my barren bed mourns

dawn beckoning blues

cuddled close to warmth
heart unwraps with each heartbeat
in sync with each breath
time ticking eternity
kindling kosmic fire

napowrimo 28. running late as that white rabbit.
dVerse Tuesday build a bridge puente form
haiku my heart friday

poet’s note: kinda running behind on this year’s participation… the experience of learning new poetry forms is always intriguing and this year was no disappointment…. and it has been just as much fun as previous years meeting new people and renewing acquaintances…. keep writing…

27.starlight

lingering on the lanai in the late evening hours the sounds of the sea are ever present. as the moon rises and falls the hours pass in quietude recalling the morning’s dawn and daylight’s ending sunset. all too soon tomorrow lifts her sleepy eyes as nocturnal shadows begin to fade.

traveling sea breeze
ethereal excursion
roams the great oceans

22.stitching

meandering dreamer
a loome for the weaver
she smokes the green reefer
with her espresso and creamer

lives near Pasadena
just past the ol’ dry cleaner
dressed with a demeanor
but never with the cheater

corner selling healer
beware the believer
jesus christ the seeker
revival for the reaper

waiting makes her meaner
if you want to please her
bring only kosher wieners
call it misdemeanor

napowrimo day 22. dVerse anapestic tetrameter. another challenging form, hoping i came close to…. one has to get creative and have fun most of all and learn a new form.

19.happiness

one particular day it happened
listening to that song
over and over again
I want to make it with you
an eight track cassette playing repeatedly
by sunset I was done
so bothered i was
i started imagining myself
chucking it out the window

napowrimo day 19. it’s flying by
MMLM Music Challenge No 180..i want to make it with you
d Verse Quadrille No 180…bother

poets note: this particular day was a memory pulled right outta my head hat after reading about that particular song by bread. a long day and a long drive heading north in the oz desert.
