during the day
the prelude to dusk
the world slumbered
unnoticed by the
exchange of events
thanking the stars
she kissed the
twin of her flame
in the sunlight of
his tranquility
lifetime of love
sifted by sands
with scaled wings
and scalding fire
she rests
brought to fruitation
the spell of seasons
ignites the blue moon
amidst twilight and birth
held in the embrace
the harvest arrival

just lovely… and a perfect accompaniment to ricks art…
I, like Jo, also really like the images in the third stanza.
Good poem! (I liked the second stanza best)–“thanking the stars/ she kissed the/ twin of her flame/ in the sunlight of/ his tranquility.” Oh, I see Gautami liked that, too!
Ouch, your blog went suddenly dark! Have been lurking here for a while now…..
Thanks for your comment on my blog:)
You touch on all the different aspects of the painting, but make them all fit in a personal way. Mythical and timeless.
