the tale first told
by the fire of night
in the shadowed faces
cerebrate reverberate
cold air seeps in the
sleepy resting bones
creating curious
haunting dreams
distressing, disturbing
their contented days
months pass quickly
faltering and fumbling
their minds flounder
when asked the
terrible tale told
a response of
glazed eyes static
numb with consciousness
their silent reason struggles

This is a nice idea — the effect of a story. There are so many good lines here — “cerebrate reverberate,” the whole second to last stanza is a song and that last line is a killer.
i love the concept.. about a story that was told previously… very unique take on the prompt…
Oh! Great!
