Writers Island prompt: desire
photo: ArtioBoanne, photobucket.com
beneath transparent layers
inhabits a hungar that hopes
relentless in expression
rarely reflective
declared in loud whispers
with lips silent unmoving
meanders the outstretched moments
in absent amorous warmth
immersed in serene suspension
undetected in the smoldering coolness
ardent anticipation quickens
promises flower the evening vase
candlelight shadows subdued
seductively drawn to the allure
erupting, flowing over
galloping unimpeded
the heart sprouts wings
galloping unimpeded
the heart sprouts wings
those lines say it all for me,,, “you’ll know when you get run over” kind of a thing…..
ardent anticipation quickens
promises flower the evening vase
candlelight shadows subdued
This is my favorite stanza. Specifically “promises flower the evening vase”
wonderfully expressed…:)
kudos!
A poem sending us headlong towards?
Well, life.
I was seductly drawn into it…
Keep writing..

thanks for your comment on my first 3WW š
lovely poem! desire tends to be a theme in many of my poems…i find myself inspired more if there is something i want than when i already have it…
A lovely shimmering picture of a poem.
inhabits a hungar that hopes
relentless in expression
rarely reflective
declared in loud whispers
with lips silent unmoving
well silent desires, we all are guilty of them.. hmm may be guilt is not the word, but why do we have tough time owning up to them
I like how you draw out the desire through layers and layers of thought.

“ardent anticipation quickens”
I love the above line, reached out and grabbed me. Excellent poem.
Great layers and images – particularly fond of ‘the heart sprouts wings’ – stunning piece!
‘the heart sprouts wings’ really does it for me and if I had to give this piece a title that would be it.
This is so lush and gorgeous. And the picture? Amazing.
I particularly liked the part about meanders the outstretched moments, and sort of related that to the picture really well.
The alliteration in this made it so enjoyable to read. My favorite line: “in absent amorous warmth”. Nice!
I love this. Starts off very slow and then it is as if they are in a hurry to get to one another for a desirable moment.
The ” heart sprouts wings” excellent! Very enjoyable!
You write so beautifully! “Promises flowers the evening vase” is an amazing line. I love this poem.
