FromTheBeginning

ayers rock
3WW prompt: gossip, naive, station
photo: hazel_p, photobucket

in the desolate dark
absent from light
the station was
a welcoming sight

quiet and hypnotic
the songlines of night
kept company
the lone figure’s flight

acquiring wisdom
was a more tangled task
than the realization
of life unmasked

unfinished and naive
he privately weighed
the gravid gossip
regarding his return

this rite of passage
the young must brave
confirming the kindred save

exhausted sleep
thoughts swirling to rest
his walkabout fait accompli

  1. TC says:

    acquiring wisdom
    was a more tangled task
    than the realization
    of life unmasked

The truly wise don’t know they are wise…

  2. Your poem has a nice rhyme and rhythm to it, Little Wing. I enjoyed reading this. Coming back home is always hard after being away. I hope there is some peace to be found. Have a nice weekend.

writing is everything...
