3WWW this week prompt: icy, paus, train
he came and knocked
arriving unexpectedly
opening the door
we both immediately smiled
with flowers in hand
and an invitation
walking briskly
against the icy wind
caused us to pause
in the shadows
of the old barn
pressing close
escaping the bitter cold
our breath caught
in the crisp air
we laughed at the moment
of our predicament
interrupted by the
distant passing train
alone with our thoughts
silence brought us
back to each other
the train now
in the distance
he began speaking slowly
erasing everything
from the past with ease
the wonder of words
felt tender and warm
falling with grace
upon my heart
beneath it all
i wordlessly wondered
what would happen
once we left
the shelter
of this moment
Nicely done.

I really like that. You always wonder if it will be as amazing when you leave that one moment in time behind.
Great mood build up throughout, I like the use of the picture too. Good work!
Like a painting of a tender moment. I felt drawn in.
Nicely done! The photo is the perfect addition!
Oh yes the last stanza is wonderful! Nice poem.

Beautiful. It all was. Soft and beautiful language.
This poem is a bouquet of soft pussywillows! Sometimes they last only a few days but sometimes they last forever. ~Linda
