Seeing I Saw

3WWW this week prompt: phone, stumbled windy

it is dark, and
here up high
the canyon edge
is always windy and
the breeze blows cool

i saw
my feet firmly planted
seemingly somehow aware
i may have stumbled before

arms held out to the sky
as the wings of a hawk
my hands become feathers

unable to resist
my feet leave the ground

the sounds of the
canyon floor crying
alone i was happy
and content

without hesitation
the canyon changed

my cell phone
brings me back
how could that be…

  1. Beautiful. Every word built a strong image. I have often wondered where I would fly if I were to have wings. Thanks for sharing this wonderful poem. Hate the cell phone interrupted. Keep up the good work.
