serene seclusion
big tent poetry: possessions. this week’s prompt is to think of something you possess. what are your feelings about this possession? do you possess it, or does it possess you? i was unable **unwilling** to focus on anything specific **anything to do w/my personal possessions** but i did find this one… confirming possessions are fleeting ; photo: purple finch by drphotomoto, flickr
surrounded in a small way
she felt perfectly content
her favorite color of pink
entwined in the tiny twirls
of happiness haunting her house
purple dangling beads
dancing with delight
shimmering songs singing
her doorway the dazzle
of dawn’s expression
mad and marvelous
everyone stayed away
swift and slow she so suddenly left
her presence slumbers in nirvana
perceptible pink puddles smiling back
clearly anticipating more

Beautiful.
Such pretty colours, of the finch and in your poem, I love the pink puddles smiling back. A light, happy poem, and finches do sing so beautifully, don’t they?
I love ‘pink puddles smiling back’
I love the alliteration throughout but especially “entwined in the tiny twirls/of happiness haunting her house”. To be satisfied with such simplicity!
There are some beautiful lines in this poem. And I love the picture – what kind of bird is it?
Sweetly captured. What a lovely bird.
Well captured.

I enjoyed the alliteration– lovely poem!
So lovely, nature poetry at it’s finest.
Wonderfully crafted response! Excellent post!

Beautiful description of the ephemeral entry of beauty into our lives. Thanks!
I agree that the aliteration in this poem is spectacular… going to have to work on that myself! Ypu chose fine words.
This poem is like the fragile moment it describes… worth savoring.
A beautiful read – a dreamlike state merges with the pink puddles.
Sooo cute the bird is! Lovely poem
what an amazing colored little bird. your words paid a wonderful tribute.
